Anton tells stories set in the multi-verse of Mystic Realms.  In these worlds, twenty fundamental energies form the basis of all magic and science. The energies flow like unseen rivers of power, permeating all things and everyone. In the mystic realms, each realm is a unique, with different cultures, history, environments, and technologies, but with similar natural laws, arcane principles, and universal constants.

Actor

Anton appears in the fantasy movie “The Rangers” as the evil Count Thrace who as the leader of the Rangers seeks to undermine the king and gain control of the kingdom.  In the “Impact Factor” Anton appears as Lloyd Benson, a harried political operator.  Anton has made a number of television appearances on MTV and Nickelodeon. In 2011, he appeared as himself on NBC’s the Marriage Ref. He is also featured in the documentary “Live, Love, LARP” which follows members of the Mystic Realms LARP. He is active in community theater and has performed in many Renaissance and Medieval Fairs up and down the east coast.

Game Designer

Anton started live roleplaying in the early 1980s, long before the term live-action was ever used to describe the hobby. His first rules system used crumpled balls of paper to cast spells, padded broom-handle swords, and garbage can-lid shields. The goal was to hunt monsters through the woods behind his house as imagined medieval heroes, but Anton soon tired of these “monsters-the-woods” games.

Anton wanted to develop dramatic, character driven performances so he combined his game mechanics with improvisational acting skills to create what he hoped would become an interactive theatric experience. Over the next two decades, Anton developed the Mystic Realms system which allows participants to roleplay any genre in a way that is balanced, fair, and extremely playable, but, more importantly, dedicated to encouraging theatric performance in the participant.

Anton has written the Mystic Realms real-action rules, as well as the companion system that is played using dice instead of live acting. He’s written the Mystic Realms Writers Guide, Members Manual and Managers Manual explaining how to learn immersive roleplaying skills, run clubs and create events of interactive theater. He is the author of eight highly detailed world source books that provide solid character information for participants to use in the many genres of Mystic Realms.

Anton’s goals are to bring theatric-focused, real-action roleplaying into acceptance as a mainstream performance hobby. He hopes to show people the value of a theatric based rules system where participants entertain each other as part of a creative community of friends.
